What is "The Seven-Minute Break" ?

In actuality, the seven-minute break is the time that Lynn Levin's Fall 2006 Creative Writing class had to go get candy or coffee, as part of their three-hour, Wednesday afternoon class.

But for the purposes of this site, it's a break from your busy day to read some of the works created by students here at the University of Pennsylvania. As a registered user, you can post poetry, fiction or nonfiction pieces to the public. Whether you're logged in or not, you can post comments on people's work as well, offering feedback or suggestions.

The idea was started, you guessed it, in Lynn Levin's class, when we all thought it would be neat to publish our works in a public domain. Since online reviews, magazines and newspapers have a tough screening process before publishing any material, creating our own website seemed like the easiest thing to do.

So please browse the site and pieces and if you feel inspired, register and post something yourself!
